This was especially true in Italy where, at times, 26 Allied nations fought together within two different armies on one battlefield.
The Punjabi Regiments were some of the most highly disciplined and formidable soldiers in the field. Donning their traditional turbans they fought side by side with Canadian soldiers on many occasions, and earned the great respect of their comrades in arms.
