Private William Cushley

Private William Jonathan James Cushley was born in Bristol, England on 28 July 1985. He enrolled in the Canadian Forces on 27 October 2004 and, following infantry training joined the First Battalion of The Royal Canadian Regiment on 18 July of that same year. Recently, William was employed as rifleman and LAV III turret operator in C Company as part of Operation Archer in Kandahar, Afghanistan.

William was a good soldier who was well liked by the members of the Battalion. His friends and comrades said he exhibited strong leadership qualities. He had a fierce love of family and a sense of fun.

William is survived by his parents Errol and Elaine and three sisters.
