Golden Hawks
Formed in 1959 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the RCAF and 50th anniversary of powered flight in Canada, the Golden Hawks flew 317 public air displays over five seasons between 1959 and 1963.
Flying Sabre Jets, the team's thrilling aerial show was seen by millions of Canadians from coast-to-coast prior to their untimely disbandment on February 7th, 1964 due to government budget cuts. The legacy of this original aerobatic team is still proudly carried on through the world famous Snowbirds.
