Robert John Dawson served in the Canadian Army for nine years, over four of which were spent overseas with the 5th Armoured Division during the Second World War.
After the war, Bob was very active in the community as a philanthropist, volunteer and businessman who believed very strongly in service above self.
He was an Hon. Colonel of the Fraser Highlanders and an Hon. Colonel and Commander of the Honour Guard of the Museum of the Regiments. Bob dedicated much of his life to causes he believed in. To his family and friends, he was a great and generous man.
