Private Kevin Kennedy

Kevin Vincent Kennedy was born on October 20th, 1986, in St. John’s, Newfoundland. He graduated from St. Lawrence Academy in 2003. During his high school years Kevin made his mark as a navy cadet and avid athlete competing in soccer, basketball and long-distance running.

Upon graduation, Kevin enrolled in the Canadian Forces as an Infantry soldier. It was always his dream to become a soldier and he was steadfast and determined, never wavering when faced with a new challenge.

Upon completion of his Basic and Infantry training, Kevin was posted to 2 RCR in March 2006. Soon after his arrival to the Battalion, he began pre-deployment training for Afghanistan deploying with Hotel Company in February 2007. He had the opportunity to do what he always wanted to do. Be a soldier and make a difference.

Kevin was a jovial and witty soldier who will be fondly remembered by his fellow soldiers in 2 RCR.
