Master Corporal Charles-Philippe Michaud
Master Corporal Charles-Philippe Michaud enlisted on 12 September 2000 in Bathurst, New Brunswick and, after completing his recruitment training in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec, he arrived at Valcartier, Québec to complete his infantry training at the Land Force Quebec Area Instruction Center from 1 December 2000 to 4 May 2001.
From there he was posted to 2e R22eR and after completing his training he was promoted to MCpl on 1 May 2006. He participated in three deployments with the NATO forces; to Bosnia from 15 March 2002 to 28 September 2002, in Kabul, Afghanistan 21 January 2004 to 7 September 2004 and Kandahar, Afghanistan since April 2009.
He succumbed to injuries inflicted on 23 June 2009 by an anti-personnel mine while on foot patrol in the Panjwai area, west of Kandahar.

Cplc Charles-Philippe Michaud s'est enrôlé le 12 septembre 2000 à Bathurst au Nouveau-Brunswick et, après avoir suivi sa formation de recrue à St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, il est arrivé à Valcartier pour suivre sa formation de Fantassin au Centre d'Instruction du Secteur de Québec de la Forces Terrestre du 1er décembre 2000 au 4 mai 2001.
De là, il est muté au 2e R22eR et après avoir suivi sa formation de Cplc il est promu le 1er mai 2006. Il participe à trois reprises à des déploiements avec les Forces de l'OTAN, soit en Bosnie du 15 mars 2002 au 28 septembre 2002, à Kabul en Afghanistan du 21 janvier 2004 au 7 septembre 2004 et à Kandahar en Afghanistan depuis avril 2009.
Il a succombé aux blessures infligées le 23 juin dernier par une mine anti-personnelle alors qu'il effectuait une patrouille à pied dans la région de Panjwai, à l'ouest de Kandahar.
