Private Andrew Miller

Private Andrew Miller
Private Andrew Christopher Alexander Miller was born in Sudbury Ontario on 31 December 1988. He was raised by loving parents, Wendy Miller and Raymond Ealdama.
Never one to shy away from a challenge, Andrew finally achieved his childhood dream of being a soldier, when he enrolled as a Medical Technician in the Canadian Forces on 6 September 2006. Following his medical training, Andrew began his military career with 2 Field Ambulance in Petawawa, Ontario on 21 January 2008.
Upon arrival to his new unit, he quickly established himself as a soldier that worked hard but one that also played hard. Andrew, also known as “Caillou”, was considered by his military family and friends to be “the life of the party”.
Although, he was a bit of a goofball at times, and occasionally got into trouble, his dedication to his profession, the Canadian Forces and his country was clear. Andrew always believed strongly in the mission of the CF and eagerly awaited opportunities to serve his country at home and abroad. He deployed on his first tour to Afghanistan on 17 May 2010.
Andrew is survived by his mother and father, his sisters Emma & Jordan, his brother Justin, his soul mate Staci Jessup and numerous family and friends.
Regimental Statement
Andrew will be remembered by many for his unique sense of humour, his almost stubborn determination to succeed, and most importantly, his dedication to the well being of his friends and fellow soldiers. He would give the shirt off his back if he were asked to do so.
While this tragic loss deeply saddens many, we can take solace in knowing that he was doing what he loved and that he was making a real difference in the world.
Rest in peace, brother in arms.
