Corporal Albert Hugh Storm CD, was born 1 February 1970 in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Two years following his graduation from High School, Albert joined the Canadian Armed Forces in Edmonton, Alberta during the fall of 1990.
Upon completion of the Canadian Forces Recruiting School in Cornwallis, Ontario, Pte Storm was assigned to the 1st Battalion of the Royal Canadian Regiment. Within the battalion Cpl Storm gained a wide variety of skills, completing numerous courses in rapid succession. These courses included Basic Assault Pioneer, 81mm Mortar, Driver Wheeled and Drive Tracked, as well as his Machine Gunner’s and ERYX Gunner’s qualifications.
Throughout this time period Cpl Storm was described as being a hard working, dedicated soldier with a positive attitude. This assessment of Cpl Storm would remain with him throughout his career.
Only 3 years away from retirement, Cpl Storm’s current tour of duty in Afghanistan with Task Force 03-06 was his fifth deployment. He had also served in Bosnia (twice), Croatia, and CFS Alert.
Cpl Storm was buried at the foot of his mother’s grave and is survived by his children, Joshua and Danika.
